Chairman's Letter
Dear Colleagues and Friends,
On behalf of the Organizing Committee it is my pleasure
to invite you to participate in the 9th international
meeting on “Angiogenesis: Basic Science and Clinical
Applications” to be held at the Conference and Cultural
Centre of the University of Patras in Greece, from June
22 to June 26, 2008.
The objective of this meeting is to discuss the most recent
advances in understanding molecular and cellular aspects of
the complex cascade of events involved in angiogenesis. In
addition, new novel emerging targets for angiogenesis –
based therapies will be explored and the clinical experience
with approval modulators of angiogenesis as well as with
agents in the pipeline of development will be presented
by leaders of the field. Both academic and industrial
scientists are welcome and submissions of abstracts for
poster presentation by young investigators is strongly
recommended. Submitted abstracts will be presented in
interactive poster sessions and selected abstracts will
be chosen for oral presentations. This interdisciplinary
meeting attracts a healthy mix of about 150 basic and
clinical scientists and facilitates discussions and
interaction between senior and young scientists in an
informal and pleasant atmosphere.
The venue is an ideal location in one of the most beautiful areas of Greece
ideal for post meeting activities (Olympia, Delphi, Mycenae, Epidaurus,
Nafplio and Athens). Accommodations are in seafront resort hotels and
